Asset Management - Custom Attributes
Available in: Professional and Enterprise
You can add custom fields, known as attributes, to Assets to fit the needs of your organization.
Creating Custom Attributes
- In the Admin Console under Asset Management, click the Custom Attributes menu item, then click the Add Attributes button
- Give the attribute a Name which will be displayed to users
- Select a field Type - this determines what user input values will be acceptedÂ
- Optionally, enter a number in the Position field - this will determine the order the field appears within the user Asset Management module layout; a lower number will make the field appear higher on the layout
- When finished, click Submit
Editing Custom Attributes
- In the Admin Console under Asset Management, click the Custom Attributes menu item
- From the list that appears, search for the attribute you wish to edit, then from the Action menu at right, click Edit
- You can make changes to the Name, Position, and Required fields; you cannot change the type
- To change the attribute Type, Deactivate the attribute, then create a new attribute
- When finished, click Update
